Have fun and enjoy trick or treating, but make sure you are celebrating this fun Halloween safely! Here are some events to check out in Coronado: October 31 (Thursday):  Free Burgers & Drinks for Kids at Burger Lounge Burger Lounge Coronado (located at 922 Orange Avenue) will be supplying a 'kids burger and soft drink' to all kids under 12 years old  October 31 (Thursday): Downtown Goes Ghostly: From 3:30p-5:30p - all of the businesses on Orange Avenue hand out candy and other treats.  The sidewalks are absolutely packed with little kids (most under 12) and their parents as they go business-to-business to collect their goods. October 31  (Thursday):   Trick or Treating in Coronado Neighborhoods: From dusk until the candy runs out! Are you a girl between 14-18 and in high school? Do you love science or math? If so check out this really cool contest being put on by Marvel entertainment! The full contest rules are located on their website, but essentially you need to fill out an application, interview a woman who has been successful in a STEM field, and submit a 5 minute video about yourself and the interview. There are lots of resources on the site giving  you a guide to successful women in your area. Winners get a chance to see the new Thor 2! I came across this cool promotion recently. In partnership with Time Warner Cable, many local museums will let kids 12 and under in for free with a paying adult. To find out more about this and to download the coupon that gets you in  click here!  If you're over 12, it means that if you pay to get in you can bring a younger sibling or perhaps someone you're babysitting in for free. The San Diego Museum Council 's website has even more information about the program and other museum related activities happening in San Diego.

Star Wars Reads day is a fantastic day that celebrates both Star Wars and reading! Happening Saturday, October 5th, activities are planned throughout the county to celebrate this cool event.
